Why we didn't just name this jacket after the wolf…

...even though it definitely would've looked better on the poster. “Sakaali” is Finnish for jackal — and that's no accident. The wolf gets the admiration, the jackal gets the dinner. It's the one out in any weather, adapting to everything, always with a pocket full of spoils somewhere. That's exactly how we built this jacket: not a specialist for one perfect day, but an all-rounder for the 200 days in between where you head out anyway.

Spring, autumn, mild winter days — the SAKAALI is no diva that only plays along in perfect conditions. The wind/waterproof membrane keeps rain and wind where they belong: outside. Unsealed seams let out what comes from inside — you, gasping up the hill. Flood? Grab a hardshell. Otherwise: this one.

The helmet-compatible storm hood with wire brim stays put, even when the wind disagrees. Every drawcord runs one-handed — handy when your other hand's already full. And you park wet gloves on the WILD-Loop with a carabiner, instead of hunting for them in the mud later, thoroughly annoyed.

Why we know what we're talking about.

We don't develop our jackets in a heated office, but right here, deep in Finnish Lapland, way above the Arctic Circle, where winter can easily hit -40 degrees. What we build, we wear ourselves — every single day. Hang it by the door — and head out when everyone else is stuck staring out the window.

Tested in Lapland. Everything else is weather.
