Late October, two degrees, sideways drizzle — the moment most trousers start begging for backup from a base layer. Not these. Outside sits a wind- and waterproof membrane, inside a soft fleece lining that keeps the warmth exactly where it belongs. This isn't some jack-of-all-seasons compromise that's mediocre at everything. This is a pair of trousers built for the cold half of the year — and it nails it.

Nothing drains the energy from your bones faster than cold thighs. The full-length, soft fleece lining on the inside feels like your comfiest joggers, while the outer shell is tough enough for real terrain, scrub and rough rock. Slip in, get comfy, head into the frost.

Built for the terrain — not the washing line!

We fitted a seriously tough wind- and waterproof membrane that confidently blocks snow, icy wind and drizzle. But just like the jacket, we deliberately left the seams unsealed. Why? Sweating through a lined winter trouser on a small climb is a design flaw. The SAKAALI lets excess heat out instead.

The cut lets you move without anything pinching, sliding, or hunting for your kneecap. Whether you're climbing a fence, crouching down, or sitting three hours in a hide by the campfire. The trousers move with you instead of reminding you you're wearing them. Biggest compliment trousers can get.

Why we know what we're talking about.

We don't develop our gear in a heated office, but right here in Finnish Lapland, above the Arctic Circle, where winter can hit -40 degrees. What we build, we wear ourselves. Paired with the SAKAALI Jacket, it forms a full system for the cooler season, built for relaxed snowshoe trips in Lapland.

Tested in Lapland. Everything else is weather.
